“Short Run Production” is a term used when a customer needs a part where the quantities can be anything ranging from a few more than prototype to several thousand parts.

It’s that in-between stage when considering investing in expensive injection mold tooling for production of very high quantities versus the ultimate quantities of parts needed only might be a few hundred or perhaps a few thousand over a span of time.

Or, it could be the quickest way to get parts while waiting for production to tool up.

Sometimes a customer knows there will be revisions to a part as the new product line evolves and needs to keep the tooling costs low.
